Boy dies in New Brunswick after being struck with scooter


An 11-year-old boy has died after police say he was struck in the top with a kick scooter in Shippagan, N.B., final week.

Lamèque RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon exterior a residence in the city on Thursday.

Once on scene, police say officers discovered the boy affected by life-threatening accidents.

According to RCMP, the 11-year-old died in hospital on Saturday because of his accidents.

A 15-year-old boy, whose title is not going to be launched as a consequence of his age, was arrested on Monday in connection with the investigation.

Const. Hans Ouellette with the New Brunswick RCMP mentioned {the teenager} has been launched from custody, and is scheduled to seem in Bathurst provincial courtroom on Jan. 26, 2023.

Ouellette wouldn’t affirm if prices are anticipated.

A GoFundMe web page created for the deceased boy’s household has already raised over $6,500.

In a Facebook publish by the Town of Shippagan, Mayor Kassim Doumbia  thanked everybody for his or her prayers and assist through the tough time.

“My coronary heart goes out to the household. I need to lengthen my honest sympathy to the household and mates,” learn the publish.

Doumbia says flags on the municipal constructing might be flown at half-mast this week.
