Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly has introduced extra sanctions on Russian entities.
The new sanctions apply to 34 individuals and one tv community that the federal government is asking “propaganda agents.”
Joly says Canada is concentrating on these liable for Russian disinformation because the warfare in Ukraine nears the nine-month mark.
The new additions embrace TV Zvezda, a channel run by Russia’s defence ministry, and officers from a museum.
Also sanctioned are Tina Kandelaki, a outstanding media persona, and actor Sergei Bezrukov.
Joly says these added to the sanctions checklist at present have tried to justify Russia’s makes an attempt to annex elements of Ukraine and will likely be barred from dealings with Canada.
