Canada’s Menard rolls to 12-2 rout of Slovenia in round-robin finale

ABERDEEN, United Kingdom –

Canada’s Jean-Michel Menard dumped Slovenia’s Stefan Sever 12-2 in the round-robin finale for each groups Thursday on the world combined curling championship.

Menard, from Gatineau, Que., scored three in the opening finish and pulled away with 5 factors in the third. The groups shook palms after Canada (7-1) tacked on three extra factors in the sixth finish.

Menard, vice Marie-France Larouche, second Ian Belleau and lead Annie Lemay had already certified for the playoffs on Friday.

Matchups have been to be decided upon the completion of Thursday’s late draw on the Curl Aberdeen facility.

Medal video games are scheduled for Saturday.
