MOGADISHU, Somalia –
Military officers in Somalia say at least 5 individuals had been killed and 11 others wounded when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the entrance gate of a military training camp in Mogadishu on Saturday night.
The al-Shabab extremist group claimed accountability for the attack at the camp that has been focused a number of instances up to now.
Gen. Odawa Yusuf, chief of Somalia’s defence forces, advised state media the bomber had been pretending to be a recruit at the General Dhaga-Badan military training camp in Wadajir district.
A military officer, Abdirahman Ali, advised The Associated Press that “there have been some fatalities for each the civilians strolling alongside the road and the recruits.”
The camp is situated close to the massive Turkish military base in Somalia.
