Bauer Hockey is placing its partnership with Hockey Canada on ice, calling the repeated breach of belief by the nationwide group’s management “extraordinarily disturbing.”
The firm says it is pausing its function because the official tools supplier to Hockey Canada’s men’s teams and its sponsorship of men’s tournaments.
It says Hockey Canada will have the ability to buy gear for men’s packages, with income being invested in hockey packages for women, girls and different underrepresented communities.
Bauer says it’ll proceed to produce tools to the ladies’s packages.
The firm says its purpose is to drive management and coverage change at Hockey Canada and to not influence athletes.
Bauer’s transfer follows related bulletins by sponsors together with Nike, Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons and comes after Andrea Skinner resigned because the interim chair of Hockey Canada’s board of administrators.
