Iran: Canada imposes sanctions targeting TV station, entities accused of torture

Canada is imposing extra restrictions on Iranian officers with a give attention to entities Ottawa is linking to propaganda and torture.


The new sanctions goal six folks and 4 entities, together with the Fars News Agency, which is believed to be affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.


Also sanctioned is Iran’s Guardian Council, which blocks electoral candidates who do not align with the regime’s ideology.


Among the entities barred from doing enterprise with Canada is the Assembly of Experts and the Expediency Discernment Council, each of which uphold the regime’s guidelines.


Canada can also be itemizing Iran’s deputy inside minister and a commander of the Revolutionary Guard in response to violent crackdowns on protesters.


As of right now, Canada has imposed sanctions on 89 Iranian people and 177 Iranian entities.
