Manitoba’s women’s ringette team hosts national tournament in preparation of 2023 Winter Games

Team Manitoba is making ready for the 2023 Canada winter video games.

For the primary time in two years, Team Manitoba is internet hosting a national ringette prep tournament at Seven Oaks Arena that has all 9 provinces competing. 

Head coach for Team Manitoba, Lynn Girardin, stated having the ability to host a prep tournament in the province is “distinctive.” 

“Playing the final couple of years with COVID has been troublesome. Not solely on our athletes however on our sport. Having that capability and permitting the ladies now again on the ice is simply so thrilling. Everybody could be very thrilled,” she stated.

Girardin, who has been enjoying ringette for many of her life, stated the game is predicated on teamwork and pace.

Jordan Watson, who performs heart for Team Manitoba, stated it was a dream of hers to make the team.

Watson has large targets because the team prepares for the winter video games.

“We expect a medal after we go to the video games, that’s our finish purpose,” she stated.

The tournament will proceed to Sunday night.
