Off-duty Ottawa police officer killed in Friday morning crash in Perth, Ont.


An off-duty Ottawa police officer driving residence from work died in a two-vehicle crash in Perth, Ont. in a single day.


Emergency crews responded to a crash involving a transport truck and a passenger automobile on Hwy. 7, east of Drummond Street East, at roughly 3:45 a.m. Friday.


Ontario Provincial Police say the motive force of the passenger automobile was pronounced lifeless on the scene.


The sufferer has been recognized as Drew Nadeau, 31, of Perth, Ont.


Nadeau joined the Ottawa Police Service in March 2020, after serving as a firefighter in the navy.


Ottawa police say Const. Nadeau died in the collision whereas driving residence from work.


“Drew was simply 31 years outdated. He was an unimaginable younger man who served his neighborhood with delight and dedication,” police mentioned on Twitter.


“Our hearts and assist are along with his spouse, his household, mates and colleagues. We wish to thank all the emergency responders who rendered help on the scene.


“Drew might be missed.”


The driver of the transport truck was not harm.


Police proceed to research.
