Sixteen groups stay following the 24-team preliminary stage final week, which noticed the highest 4 groups from every pool advance.

The groups have been divided into two swimming pools for Phase 2. Each squad will play 4 matches towards opponents they did not face in the course of the preliminary stage, with the high 4 from each swimming pools transferring on to the quarter-finals.

The nineteenth version of the match is the primary to be co-hosted by two nations. Pool E matches will probably be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
