WestJet investigating tweeting of customer’s information

WestJet says it’s investigating after a customer’s private information was shared throughout the airline’s social media accounts Thursday.


The Calgary-based airline shared a doc for a seat payment on its social media channels, in what seems to be a breach of the customer’s privateness.


The doc comprises passenger information for a spherical journey flight between Calgary and Vancouver.


It was shared on the corporate’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, which collectively have 1.5 million followers.


The posts had been taken down inside minutes of being posted.


In an emailed assertion, WestJet spokeswoman Morgan Bell mentioned that the airline is conscious of the state of affairs and is investigating the matter.
