Why was the TSX down? Trading resumes after morning halt

The Toronto Stock Exchange is predicted to continue buying and selling after a technical problem halted the market shortly after the opening bell Tuesday.


The TMX Group which operates the trade stated buying and selling had stopped for the TSX, TSXV, and Alpha markets simply after 10 a.m. in Toronto.


TMX stated it was experiencing a connection problem at the time with the TSX order entry image vary M to S.


When calling the quantity listed on the TMX Group’s web site, a message stated the market was in a pre-open state and would stay there till 11:10 a.m. when buying and selling would resume.


TMX was beforehand hit with an outage in February 2020 as a consequence of a system capability problem amid heavy buying and selling throughout the early days of the pandemic.


Another outage again in 2018 was blamed on a {hardware} failure.
